How to set up and use barcodes/QR codes with your memberships or loyalty program

Barcodes/QR codes can be a quicker and more convenient way of checking customers into your memberships or loyalty program, you may use them on key fobs or plastic loyalty cards or via the Loyalzoo app/wallet passes.

If you prefer physical barcode cards you will need to supply them yourself but once you have your supply, you will be able to use them in conjunction with the Loyalzoo software. 

If you are using Clover or GoDaddy, please open the app from the homescreen of your device.

If you are using EposNow please open the app via the action button in the bottom right

Using your own barcodes

  1. Create a customer: using the "create customer" button (no barcode is required in this step)

  2. After creating the customer, tap the "edit" icon in the customer's profile. 

  3. Add the barcode number in the barcode field.

  4. Tap Save.

Using the QR codes/ member IDs from the Loyalzoo App or wallet passes

1. If the customer is not created yet, create the customer using the "create customer" button (no barcode is required in this step)

2. Once the customer has installed the Loyalzoo app or wallet pass, the barcode field will be filled in automatically. You do not need to fill in a barcode. If you wish to use a specific barcode you can change it via the "edit" button in the customer profile. The QR code and member ID in the app/wallet pass will change accordingly.

Wallet passes are currently only available for Digital Loyalty

Finding customers using a QR/barcode

Using Loyalzoo on a web browser

  1. Find a customer: Focus your mouse/cursor in the search box

  2. Scan the customer's barcode/QR code using your scanner. This will search and display the customer at the top of your loyalty list

Using Loyalzoo on EposNow

  1. Open the app via the action button in the bottom right

  2. Find a customer: Focus your mouse/cursor in the search box

  3. Scan the customer's barcode/QR code using your scanner. This will search and display the customer at the top of your loyalty list.

Clover POS and GoDaddy/Poynt

***Due to a limitation of Clover and GoDaddy/Poynt, the barcode reader does not work from the Clover or GoDaddy/Poynt Register app. You must use the barcode reader directly from the Loyalzoo app from the homescreen of your device.

  1. Open the app via the home screen on your device

  2. Find a customer: Focus your mouse/cursor in the search box

  3. Scan the customer's barcode/QR code using your scanner. This will search and display the customer at the top of your loyalty list.
